This project is more than a building, it’s a living tribute to one of Colorado Springs’ greatest philanthropists, Winfield Scott Stratton. Inspired by Stratton’s enduring legacy of compassion, community, and care, the design team approached this project with a deep sense of purpose: to create a space that honors history while serving the evolving needs of today’s residents.
The foundation of the design was the existing Spanish Mission-style architecture, which we embraced and reinterpreted with authenticity and respect. From hand-finished stucco walls and natural stone details to intricately designed archways and warm walnut wood accents, every material and element was selected to reflect timeless craftsmanship. The result is a space that feels both historic and fresh one that celebrates the building’s legacy while delivering modern comfort.
Throughout the interiors, custom FF&E selections double as storytelling tools, celebrating Colorado Springs’ local history and sparking meaningful conversations. This narrative approach to design ensures that every corner of the building holds both beauty and purpose. Our goal was not simply to beautify the space, but to design for dignity and connection. Central amenities such as the two-story lobby, Bistro, Grab N Go Marketplace, Club Room, Craft Room, and full-service kitchen are designed to foster community, creativity, and well-being. Each space transitions seamlessly into the next, encouraging both spontaneous interaction and planned gathering. Whether it’s enjoying a game at the Bistro Bar, attending a cooking class, or hosting a multigenerational family event, the building supports a rich, connected lifestyle.
