Someren Glen Renovation

The Someren Glen Lifestyle Community project encompassed the comprehensive redevelopment of approximately 32,450 square feet across Amenity Spaces, Common Areas, and Service Areas in both Independent Living and Assisted Living buildings. The renovation included 113 residential units, 48 Assisted Living and 65 Independent Living apartments, designed to elevate comfort, accessibility, and the overall resident experience.

Community redevelopment features:

The project includes creating a variety of dining venues ranging from formal Main Dining to more relaxed Casual Dining, along with a brand-new Grab-N-Go Marketplace featuring a self-check kiosk. The design incorporates multiple dining and conversation areas, as well as a multi-functional flex space on the third floor that can accommodate everything from Chapel Services to private events. The entire space will receive a complete furniture and finishes refresh, along with updated lighting throughout.

Regional Design Connection

Inspired by Colorado's native landscape, the interiors establish a seamless connection with natural surroundings through organic materials, layered textures, and biophilic design principles. Warm wood tones and earthy finishes are juxtaposed with sleek stone elements, creating harmony between modern sophistication and rustic charm.

Transforming the Main Lobby

One of the project's key achievements was reimagining the underutilized main lobby. Through close collaboration with the client and project team, the space was transformed into a vibrant amenity: the new Grab-N-Go Marketplace. This addition enhances daily convenience for residents while supporting a more independent, hospitality-driven lifestyle.

Community-Centered Design

The design centered on creating warm, welcoming environments aligned with Someren Glen's commitment to the Household and Greenhouse Models of care. These models prioritize dignity, autonomy, and a true sense of home in Assisted Living, Memory Support, and Skilled Nursing neighborhoods.
